The Mexico City ePrix delivered an exciting automotive spectacle, and although victory initially seemed clear for Pascal Wehrlein, a subsequent investigation kept fans on edge.

From the start, Wehrlein stood out by maintaining the pole position, closely followed by Sebastien Buemi, while Robin Frijns faced difficulties and dropped to 15th place, and Maximilian Gunther took the third position. Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans in the Jaguars were in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

Drama unfolded early in the race when Nico Müller collided with Antonio Félix da Costa's Porsche, resulting in damage to both Cupra cars. Additionally, Lucas di Grassi was forced to pit shortly after the start due to technical issues.

However, the real excitement came when Buemi used his extra power to overtake Wehrlein and take the lead. Jake Dennis, in his champion debut, quickly advanced to the seventh position.
The race was interrupted on lap 9 after a strong crash between Frijns and Oliver Rowland in the Foro Sol area. Rowland lost grip on a dirty part of the circuit and crashed into the wall, leading to the competition being halted under yellow flags.

With 12 laps on the counter, the race resumed, and Wehrlein seized the opportunity to regain the first position over Buemi. However, this position didn't last long as Cassidy overtook him, and Evans pressured him.
Despite some attempts by Buemi to close the gap with Wehrlein, the latter maintained his lead and crossed the finish line in first place, closely followed by Buemi, Cassidy, Gunther, and Evans. Jake Dennis, the rookie champion, finished in a respectable ninth position.
But the controversy was far from over, as Wehrlein and Dennis were under investigation for a possible technical infringement. The following hours kept fans in suspense, but it was eventually confirmed that the results remained unchanged.
