In an exciting race on Sunday, Daniel Suárez secured his first victory of the season in the NASCAR Cup Series. The triumph, achieved at the Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, was notable for the narrow margin with which Suárez clinched the win. Behind the wheel of Trackhouse Racing's Chevrolet number 99, he led only nine of the 260 laps, but it was enough to win by a margin of just 0.003 seconds over Ryan Blaney.

Blaney, driving Team Penske's Ford number 12, finished in second place, closely followed by Kyle Busch in third, with a mere 0.007-second difference from the winner. Austin Cindric and Bubba Wallace rounded out the top five.

The event was marked by a massive accident on lap 2, which took out over a dozen potential contenders. This incident occurred shortly after the start of the race when the outside line bottlenecked. Of the 14 cars involved, Josh Williams' Chevrolet number 16 from Kaulig Racing was the only one to retire immediately.

Joey Logano, who started from the second position, had to start from the back after it was revealed he used unapproved protective gloves during the race weekend. Despite a pit lane penalty after the start, Logano managed to stay on the lead lap thanks to the lap 2 accident. However, his race ended at the end of Stage 2 after a crash involving Chris Buescher and Denny Hamlin.

William Byron, the Daytona 500 winner, finished in the 17th position. His attempt for a consecutive win in the Cup Series was hindered by an incident in Stage 2 with poleman Michael McDowell. Both drivers slowed down to enter the pits during a green-flag pit stop on lap 135. McDowell's Ford number 34 lost control and collided with Byron's Hendrick Motorsports Chevy number 24. Despite losing a lap, both continued, with McDowell finishing eighth.

The next race of the Cup Series will take place on Sunday, March 3rd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
