The Skip Barber Racing School has announced the acquisition of the assets of the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX), a motorsport series founded by NASCAR figures like Tony Stewart. SRX, known for its innovative format reminiscent of the IROC series and its focus on short tracks, ceased operations in January this year.

SRX faced financial challenges that prevented its continuation under the current administration, despite generating excitement with its first seasons on CBS, where drivers like Stewart, Marco Andretti, and Ryan Newman shone. Evernham's departure after the first season due to creative differences led to the incorporation of Donald Hawk as CEO, who now joins Skip Barber as chief strategy officer.

The Skip Barber Racing School, a key player in motorsport with training programs at nine locations in the U.S., and counting among its alumni figures like Sergio Perez and Jeff Gordon, sees this as an opportunity to expand its reach in the racing world. Although there are no concrete plans for a new SRX season, the prospect of organizing races under the new administration is a possibility that is being explored.

Dan DeMonte of SBRS expressed his enthusiasm for integrating SRX into their portfolio, seeing this as an expansion of their commitment to quality events in motorsport. Hawk, with his rich experience in competition and management, is optimistic about his new position and the future of SRX and SBRS.
