Details and Expectations for Shanghai E-Prix 2024

Motorsport fans will be familiar with the Shanghai International Circuit in China. This season, the Formula E championship is heading to another permanent circuit as it approaches the end of its tenth season. The Shanghai International Circuit, designed by Hermann Tilke, is known for its layout that resembles the Chinese character “上” (shang), meaning 'up above'.

A Challenging Circuit

The circuit, designed for top-tier global events, combines high-speed straights with tight corners. The 3.051 km layout will be a shortened version of the traditional Grand Prix circuit, with the ATTACK MODE positioned at Turn 2.

Track Experience

This circuit has been part of other international calendars such as Formula 1. Some drivers on the grid, like Sebastien Buemi (Envision Racing), Lucas di Grassi (ABT CUPRA), and Stoffel Vandoorne (DS PENSKE), have competed here before.

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of Nissan Formula E, commented on the challenge that this new venue presents for Formula E, highlighting that adaptation and learning will be key to success this weekend.
