Mateo Girón Wins in Monterrey in the 5th race of the Trucks Mexico Series 2024

The driver from Zacatecas wins his first victory of the season in a race under high temperatures.

Mateo Girón, a driver from Zacatecas, achieved his first victory of the 2024 season in the Trucks México Series. The race took place at the Autódromo Monterrey on a day with temperatures exceeding 40°C.

In the qualifying session, Girón, driving the #5 truck, secured the "Pole Position" by outperforming Gerardo Rodríguez (#08) and Andrea Lozano (#11). The competition started at 15:45 hours, lasting for 70 laps.

Despite several incidents at the beginning, Girón led in the 30th lap, allowing drivers a brief break to hydrate and make adjustments in the pits. He then regained the lead and maintained his position until the end, securing his first win of the year.

Rafael Maggio (#77) and Esteban Rodríguez (#8) completed the podium. The other drivers who finished in the top 10 were: Juan Reyes, Rodrigo Maggio, Alonso Salinas, Eduardo de la Rosa, Andrea Lozano, and Gerardo Rodríguez.

The next race of the Trucks México Series will be held on June 8 and 9 at the Óvalo Aguascalientes México, the 6th round of the season.
