Corey Heim's victory in the Toyota 200 at World Wide Technology Raceway

Corey Heim took advantage of a smart strategy and won the Toyota 200 at World Wide Technology Raceway, beating Christian Eckes by 1.854 seconds. The victory secured him a $50,000 bonus as part of the Triple Truck Challenge.

Heim led the final 22 laps after an early pit stop gave him the advantage on the track. This win was a relief after his disqualification in Charlotte due to a lug nut issue. It is his fourth win of the season and the second at this track.

"It was a team effort," Heim said. "We struggled in practice yesterday, but the pit crew redeemed themselves today."

Heim started ninth and finished fifth in the first two stages. After a quick pit stop at the Stage 2 break, he restarted in third position and took the lead before the end of the lap. He held the lead until his pit stop on lap 115, one lap earlier than Ty Majeski.

A spin by Vicente Salas on lap 129 interrupted the green-flag pit stops, allowing Heim to regain the lead when other drivers pitted under caution. On the restart at lap 138, Heim held off Majeski's pressure and maintained his position until the end.

"Corey was a little better, and I knew it," Majeski said, who led 43 laps. "I thought if I got the position, I could hold him off, but it wasn't enough."

Christian Eckes finished second, followed by Nick Sanchez. Layne Riggs completed the top five, with Chase Purdy, Ben Rhodes, and Stewart Friesen behind them. Andrés Pérez de Lara and Luke Fenhaus, making their series debuts, finished ninth and tenth respectively.

The race, delayed two and a half hours by rain, was the second leg of the Triple Truck Challenge. The next one will be on June 28 at Nashville Superspeedway, where Heim and Sanchez will have the opportunity to win an additional $100,000 if they achieve another victory.
