Hendrick Motorsports has announced the end of its sponsorship relationship with Hooters, as the restaurant chain was unable to meet its financial obligations to the team of driver Chase Elliott. The partnership, which began in 2017, was scheduled to end this year. During this period, Hooters had been the primary sponsor for several races, including those in Atlanta and Texas, and was expected to support Elliott in the fall race at Richmond.

Hooters, which has recently faced financial difficulties, announced the closure of 44 of its locations across the United States, and was unable to maintain the financial commitment to Hendrick Motorsports. This situation led the organization to decide to end the sponsorship.

In an official statement, Hendrick Motorsports expressed its gratitude to Hooters for the years of collaboration and regretted the necessity of ending the relationship. "Hooters has been a valued partner of Hendrick Motorsports since 2017, contributing to our successes both on and off the track. In recent months, however, Hooters has been unable to meet its business obligations to our organization. Due to these unfortunate circumstances and despite extensive efforts on both sides to identify a workable solution, it became necessary for Hendrick Motorsports to end the relationship. It has been a privilege having Hooters as part of our team and we wish them the best," the organization stated.
