Arrow McLaren has announced the incorporation of Christian Lundgaard for the 2025 IndyCar season. Gavin Ward, the team's director, highlighted Alexander Rossi's role and expressed his intention to support him to finish in the top five in the current championship.

Lundgaard, 22 years old and from Denmark, has been competing with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for three seasons. He has achieved one victory, several poles, and two podiums in 43 IndyCar races. Previously, he competed in Formula 2 and was a development driver for Alpine.

In Arrow McLaren, Lundgaard will drive the Chevrolet No. 7, teaming up with Pato O’Ward and Nolan Siegel, forming the youngest lineup in IndyCar for the next season.

Alexander Rossi, currently seventh in the championship standings, joined Arrow McLaren last year after seven seasons with Andretti Global. During his time with Arrow McLaren, Rossi has achieved two podiums, nine top-five finishes, and 17 top-ten finishes in 25 races.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing issued a statement thanking Lundgaard for his dedication and wishing him success in his new stage with Arrow McLaren.

Recent changes in Arrow McLaren

In recent months, Arrow McLaren has made several significant adjustments to its driver lineup:

David Malukas: Signed for the 2024 season, Malukas suffered a wrist injury in February 2024, preventing him from starting the season. Malukas was set to replace Felix Rosenqvist, who moved to Meyer Shank Racing.

Theo Pourchaire: After Malukas's injury, Arrow McLaren brought in Theo Pourchaire as a temporary replacement. Pourchaire debuted in IndyCar at the Grand Prix of Long Beach and was retained by the team for the remainder of the 2024 season, except for the Indianapolis 500. Pourchaire, the 2023 Formula 2 champion, showed a rapid adaptation.

Theo Pourchaire's departure: Despite his good performance, Pourchaire was replaced by Nolan Siegel in mid-2024. This change was part of Arrow McLaren's strategy to bet on Siegel. Pourchaire left the team after failing to secure long-term continuity.
