The 2024 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship promises to be one of the most exciting and competitive to date. Proton Competition has revealed details about their participation in the new LMGT3 category, showcasing their Ford Mustang LMGT3s.
The team has unveiled two magnificent Ford Mustang LMGT3s. The first car, with the number 77, is adorned in a striking blue that is sure to catch attention on the track. This car will make its WEC debut with a top-tier international team: Ryan Hardwick from the USA, Zacharie Robichon from Canada, and Ben Barker from the UK.

The second Mustang, No. 88, features a black and gold design. This car will be shared by Giorgio Roda from Italy, Mikkel Pedersen from Denmark, and Dennis Olsen from Norway.

The year 2024 marks a significant change in WEC with the introduction of the LMGT3 category, replacing the LMGTE class that has been a pillar since the inaugural season in 2012. This new class, based on the FIA GT3 technical platform, continues to focus on 'gentlemen drivers' and promises closer and more exciting races. In its inaugural season, the LMGT3 class will feature 18 entries, representing nine global brands: Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, Lamborghini, Huracan, McLaren, and Porsche.
The WEC calendar kicks off with the traditional Prologue (preseason testing) in Qatar, from February 24 to 25. The first round, the Qatar 1812km, takes place the following week, from March 1 to 2. This event marks the beginning of an thrilling season.
