Doriane Pin, driver for the Iron Dames team, will not participate in the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans or the upcoming Formula Regional European Championship race in Zandvoort due to a rib fracture. Pin shared the news through a video on social media, mentioning that the injury requires time to heal.
The Frenchwoman experienced discomfort during the second race at Spa-Francorchamps in the Formula Regional European Championship, which forced her to withdraw. In her message, she expressed sadness for missing one of the most important races of the year and thanked her team and fans for their support.
Rahel Frey, a team veteran, will replace Pin at Le Mans. Frey has previously competed with Iron Dames alongside Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting, achieving a fourth place in the LMGTE Am category in 2023.
Despite this setback, Pin has had an active year. In January, she joined the Mercedes young driver academy and shifted her focus to single-seaters, joining the Prema Racing team. Throughout the year, she has competed in the Formula 4 UAE Championship and has been a standout in the F1 Academy.
