Mike Conway will not participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans due to an injury sustained in a cycling accident. The 40-year-old Briton fractured his ribs and collarbone, preventing him from competing in the #7 Toyota GR010 HYBRID on June 15 and 16.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has confirmed that José María López will replace Conway. López, a two-time WEC champion and Le Mans winner in 2021 alongside Conway and Kamui Kobayashi, returns to the team after being replaced by Nyck de Vries at the end of last season.

The team thanks AKKODIS ASP for releasing López from his commitments with the Lexus RC F GT3, allowing him to join the team for the official test on Sunday. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will continue to support Conway in his recovery, hoping he returns to WEC competition as soon as possible.

This edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans marks the fourth round of the 2024 WEC season. With the lineup strengthened by López's experience, the team hopes to maintain its performance in the prestigious race.
